Longtime national power Adams State was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s Division II men’s program of the year for the third time in the award’s three-year history. The Grizzlies were NCAA champs in cross country, runners- up in outdoor track and field and finished seventh in indoor track and field during the 2010-11 school year.
Area runner shines.
Joanna Zeiger of Boulder finished second in the women’s Rock ‘n’ Roll half marathon Sunday in San Diego. Zeiger’s runner-up time was 1:19:03. Gina Slaby won the race in 1:16:33.
