A Raytheon Co. team from Aurora has successfully completed the third major communications upgrade at McMurdo Station in Antarctica.
The upgrade, which provides a threefold increase in the transmission of data from McMurdo, supports several missions that use McMurdo for satellite downlink.
The programs include NASA’s Near-Earth Network Sciences, the U.S. Air Force’s Defense Meteorological Satellite Program, the European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites.
