VAIL, Colo.—Off-road enthusiasts say new federal regulations could shut four-wheelers out of much of the White River National Forest.

The U.S. Forest Service released its travel management plan last month. Opponents have until June 20 to appeal.

The regulations dictate where and how people can travel through local forests by identifying which roads and trails remain open, and which will be closed. Snowmobilers also will be affected.

The Vail Daily says summer motorized users will get hit the hardest.
