The state’s first public cable-wakeboard park opened over the weekend at Centennial Lake in Milliken.
Located near the intersection of Colo. 60 and Centennial Drive about 15 miles west of Greeley, the park is giving those who normally flock to the slopes in winter a summer alternative.
A grand opening is scheduled for June 24.
The Mile High Wakeboarding cable park is operated by wakeboarder Steve Jones and has four cables that run up to 600 feet shore-to-shore. Each cable is operated by a generator and can pull participants at different speeds depending on skill levels ranging from beginner to advanced.
