Workers at a car rental shop in Colorado Springs found “suspicious items,” thought to be pipe bombs, in a car trunk Tuesday.
A police bomb squad was called at about 10:50 a.m. to Avis Car Rental, 7770 Milton E. Proby Parkway, near the Colorado Springs Airport, by concerned employees, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department crime blotter.
“Items resembling improvised pipe bombs were found by employees cleaning out the vehicle,” police said. “Bomb Squad technicians were called out to evaluate and render safe the devices of concern.”
No injuries were reported.
