Great Outdoors Colorado today announced its board has approved grants of $500,000 in lottery proceeds that will provide summer jobs to 200 Coloradans aged 16 to 25.
The funds are for local government and open space organizations for outdoor recreation and land conservation projects. Those employed are members of a variety of groups across the state that are part of the Colorado Youth Corps Association.
Twenty counties will receive Youth Corps crews to handle special projects that had been proposed, GOCO said.
Gov. John Hickenlooper in April announced that $1 million in lottery proceeds would be used to fund 400 outdoor jobs for youth and young adults within CYCA.
