BELFAST, Northern Ireland — A paramilitary Protestant group is thought to be responsible for a night of sectarian rioting in Belfast, which saw two people shot and homes attacked with gasoline bombs, police said Tuesday. About 500 people were involved in the violence Monday in Short Strand, a small Catholic community in a Protestant area of Belfast, police said.
