ASPEN, Colo.—Pitkin County commissioners have given initial approval to regulations that would block the glare of solar panels.

According to the Aspen Daily News, the rules would require a public notice and notification to neighbors when larger solar panels are going to be installed.

Commissioner George Newman said renewable energy is important, but so is the effect on neighbors.

The regulations approved Wednesday have been the focus of several discussions and face another hearing. Commissioners also took a tour and viewed several arrays around the county.
