It’s officially summer, and that means one thing: the return of the ever-fabulous Riverfront Park Fashion Show — a night when Denver’s most glamorous gather at Riverfront Park for nibbles and drinks as models march through the party in summery threads. It’s all produced by Denver design diva Tobi Orr. As I’ve said in years past, this outdoor bacchanal is a gasser.

The Big News: The 2011 Riverfront party is Aug. 13, a Saturday, which happens to be both my birthday and Fidel Castro’s, so we can’t make it. Darn.

Six years ago, it started as a series of four Thursday-night outdoor fashion shows — then three, and now it’s just one. Over the years, it rained three times; one time it snowed. So pray for a good night.

Pre-sale tickets went on the block Wed nesday night at the Four Seasons Level 3 Pool Bar, where the “the crowd was just stunning,” says Orr. She quickly sold 17 tables. Cabanas are sold out with a waiting list. General-admission tix are $75; on the catwalk costs $100. Tickets go on sale Wed nesday at .

Plush is doing the show; hot designer TBA. It’s a benefit this year for Denver Health Foundation.

Forever free

For former Denver Post itemizer Dick Kreck’s 70th birthday this month, the Wynkoop Brewing Co. gave him free beer for life.

But 5-year-old Rachel West may have made a bigger score. A few weeks ago, she was set to ride on the Carousel of Happiness in Nederland and discovered she was the 100,000th person to ride the year-old attraction. WOW! She was given a special ticket that gives her free rides for life!

There are 60-plus animals on the carousel, carved by Scott Harrison with love. So what did West have to say about her big win? “I want to ride on the sheep.”

Does Kreck want to swap? “Nope,” he says. “She’s too young to drink beer, and I get sick on carousels.”

The trouble with Harry

Are you looking forward to the final “Harry Potter” movie? Then Harkins Theatres Northfield is where you want to be July 11-15 for a marathon Potter package. Just writing about this makes me feel like a Muggle. Every “Potter” movie will be shown over the five days — at night — culminating with a 12:01 a.m. premiere of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2” on July 15. Along with this comes a swag bag and popcorn and lotsa pop to keep the kids jumpy.
