DENVER—The owners of a large Thornton liquor store have been charged with racketeering, theft and tax violations, according to a 52-count indictment filed in Denver District Court.
According to the Denver District Attorney’s Office, Hani Sawaged, Ghassan Sawaged and Bassam Sawaged were all named in various charges in the indictment filed Wednesday.
The three men are owners of Daveco Liquors in Thornton. The story was first reported by KMGH-TV.
According to spokeswoman Lynn Kimbrough, the men underpaid at least $450,000 in sales taxes to Thornton and the Colorado Department of Revenue.
