Crews rescued two lost hikers near Grey Rock Thursday night – the fourth rescue in the area this month.
At 6:05 p.m., officials received a 911 call from the lost hikers, two South Dakota men, who reported that they had separated from the trail, according to a news release from the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
The rescue team was able to call the men, ages 31 and 32, on their cell phone and were able to determine their location based on the description they gave.
Rescue workers found the hikers at 8:45 p.m. and returned them to the trailhead at 10:30 p.m.
Larimer County Emergency Services and 17 members of the Larimer County Search and Rescue Team responded to the call.
Officials encourage hikers to carry a map and compass with them.
