An early morning fire at a Denver business is arson, fire officials said.
The fire started about 3:30 a.m. at the Urban Sombrero Bar and Grill, 16221 E. 40th Ave., said Lt. Phil Champagne, a Denver Fire Department spokesman.
When firefighters arrived the fire was fully involved with flames and smoke pouring from the restaurant, which is in a strip mall.
Firefighters stopped the fire from spreading to other businesses, Champagne said, but some adjoining units did suffer smoke and water damage.
Investigators determined the origin of the blaze to be suspicious and it’s been ruled arson, Champagne said.
No one has been arrested and the investigation is ongoing.
It took firefighters about 20 minutes to put out the fire. No one was injured.
The person listed as the owner of the business could not be reached for comment.
