Police are still investigating the death of 20-year-old Cassandra Ann Johnson, whose body was discovered Wednesday at a home on the 2300 block of 12th Avenue.
The Boulder County Coroner’s Office on Thursday confirmed Johnson’s identity, but her cause and manner of death were still pending. Police said she did not suffer any apparent trauma.
Johnson, a graduate of Olde Columbine High School, had attended a small gathering at the home the evening before, according to Longmont Police Cmdr. Jeff Satur. When the homeowner returned home from a swing shift at 4 a.m., he told his son that Johnson, who was asleep, had to go home, Satur said. However, the man’s adult son said his friend was too drunk to leave so the men moved her to a bedroom where she could sleep on the floor, according to Satur.
Police believe the younger man checked on Johnson periodically throughout the morning, but the older man discovered she had died when he checked on her at about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
