GOLDEN, Colo.—A man died when an interior ceiling collapsed inside a building in a small industrial park in Golden.

City of Golden spokeswoman Karlyn Tilley says it took firefighters about 20 minutes to reach the man who was buried by the collapse Friday at Alpine Envelopes. The ceiling was described as a storage mezzanine inside the business.

Tilley says the 46-year-old man was the owner of Alpine Envelopes. She says the man’s daughter had spoken with her father minutes before arriving at the scene and discovering the collapse.

Tilley says the woman was delivering lunch to her father. Names have not been released.

The cause of the collapse remains under investigation.
