A woman was killed Saturday when she fell while climbing near Mount Evans in Clear Creek County.

Shortly after noon, police received a 911 call from a person who saw the woman fall, according to the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman, who was in her 20s, was climbing Sawtooth Ridge between Mount Evans and Mount Bierstadt when she fell at 11:45 a.m.

She was declared dead at 2:43 p.m.

In addition to the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office, the Alpine Rescue Team, Boulder County’s Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, the Summit County Rescue Group and Flight for Life took part in recovering the body.

The woman’s name was not released.
