A kayaker killed on the Eagle River has been identified as 31-year-old John Novak of Minturn. Novak’s kayak overturned near the Eagle County Fairgrounds about 2:40 p.m. Saturday, according to the sheriff’s office.
Novak is at least the fourth river fatality this month and the second this week. Frank Diskin, 69, of Parsons, Kan., drowned in a rafting accident on the Poudre River on Thursday.
