Lone Tree’s Connor Klein made four eagles and seven birdies in 36 holes, finishing with a 9-under-par 63 on Monday to earn medalist honors in U.S. Junior Amateur Qualifying at Walking Stick Golf Course in Pueblo.
Klein went 69-63 for a 12-under 132 total, good enough to win the tournament by five strokes. Andrew McCain of Australia and Bobby Gojuangco of San Diego, who has committed to play golf at the Air Force Academy starting in 2012, were the other medalists.
