KIOWA, Colo.—The executive director of the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission is staying in his position.
State Department of Natural Resources Executive Director Mike King said at the commission’s meeting Monday that David Neslin would keep his role for another year.
Neslin was among heads of state agencies who were told they would have to reapply for their jobs under Gov. John Hickenlooper’s administration.
The Daily Sentinel reports other finalists for Neslin’s post were Rex Energy petroleum engineer and executive John Benton and natural resources consultant Robert McDonald.
Neslin was integral in the commission’s overhaul of Colorado’s oil and gas development rules in 2008.
