The National Weather Service has discontinued a severe thunderstorm warning issued earlier tonight for part of Elbert County.
The weather service issued the warning just after 8:42 p.m. when radar indicated a severe thunderstorm near the town of Fondis, 32 miles northeast of Colorado Springs.
Hail the size of tennis balls was reported to have fallen two miles west of the town of Elbert. But by 9:15 the storm was weakening as it moved east.
The warning was discontinued at 9:16 p.m., 14 minutes early.
