Getting your player ready...

One day after homering to open a game at Wrigley Field, Carlos Gonzalez singled in the first against Gavin Floyd. CarGo is hitting .300 (6-for-20) to lead off games. Before Gonzalez was shifted to the top spot in the lineup, Rockies leadoff hitters — predominantly Dexter Fowler — were hitting .120 (6-for-50) in their first at-bats.

For the record.

With the win Tuesday, the Rockies have a 54-34 interleague record since 2006, easily the best in the National League. The Mets are the only other NL team over .500 at 48-43.

Streaking.

Chris Nelson finished the Rockies’ most recent road trip hitless in 13 at-bats. The streak reached 15 before he singled off Floyd to open the bottom of the sixth.
