Mayor-elect Michael Hancock unveiled plans Wednesday for next month’s inauguration and related celebrations.

On July 17, Hancock will begin with a 3 p.m. prayer service at Macedonia Baptist Church, 3240 Adams St.

The official swearing-in for Hancock, City Council members and the new auditor and clerk and recorder will begin at 11 a.m. July 18 at the Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre in the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. A reception will follow.

That night, there will be a free concert featuring local bands at the Denver Botanic Gardens from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

All events are free and open to the public.
