As if you needed any incentive to purchase a wristband for coming up July 21-24 (buy tickets ), the UMS has added to the monstrous lineup. Reverb caught up with event director to get the latest on what’s going on with the showdown on South Broadway and how to tackle the multi-day event (because there’s more than music this year).
From Smith:
“We are pleased to announce Gregory Alan Isakov has been added to the lineup for this year’s edition of the UMS. A veteran of the UMS, this Boulder resident, by way of Philadelphia and South Africa, is one of the best singer-songwriters in the area. That, given the strength of our music scene, is no small feat. Paste Magazine described his work well, ‘Gregory Alan Isakov makes quietly lush, deeply vibrant music more rooted in the starry night sky—like the one on the cover of his latest LP—than any terrestrial locale.’
You can find out when Gregory and over 300 other artists are performing Thursday night, June 30. We will go live with our schedule at the during! Our team recognizes the challenge an event like the UMS presents. Our booking team has done a terrific job. I believe we have the strongest four day lineup in the history of the event. There will be many tough decisions to make during the four days. We wanted to get the schedule out to allow everybody the opportunity to chart their course. And, as if the task isn’t daunting enough, soon we will also be sharing the schedule for ‘The Sesh’ panel discussions, special screenings of terrific films, and the EyeRock: Art in Music Show. My advice – hydrate and get plenty of sleep between now and July 21st!”

Listen to 3OH3!’s new single “Robot”
is headlining the Vans Warped tour this year, and what would headlining be without some new music? The guys have us covered, plus they appeared with Dr. Drew on “Loveline” last week. Kind of bummed I missed my opportunity to ask the guys for advice on how to get the ladies all hot and bothered.
DeVotchKa releases new video for “The Man from San Sebastian” + appears on “MTV IGGY”
Enjoy the beautiful video of “The Man from Sebastian” which is said to have been inspired by the late and great film-maker, Federico Fellini. I use to hate on those courier motorbikes, but after watching this video, I may be forced to eat crow. On that Fellini tip, it might be time to sit down and finally watch “La Dolce Vita.”” also placed host to DeVotchKa earlier this month as they visited the Highline Ballroom in NYC. If you haven’t heard about “MTV IGGY,” the piece brands itself as finding music from around the globe and definitely worth checking out.
