Today, Pulte Homes has a great way to get the family in the mood for the Fourth – a community Independence Day Celebration this afternoon at master-planned Anthem Highlands in Broomfield. There’ll be music, free ice cream, face painters, dancing, jump castles and other games, and a host of food vendors with every kind of Fourth of July fare, by Food Truck Warriors. “It’s a chance to test-drive the friendliest neighborhood you’re ever going to find,” says Pulte sales associate Tom Magnetti, who lives in the community. The celebration gets bigger every year, he adds – luring a thousand revelers last year.

Pulte sold seven new homes at Anthem Highlands in May and another seven in June, often from referrals of neighbors who talk up the community experience there. “We have so many options to meet people,” says new resident Brenda Devereux, who with firefighter husband Erik moved to Anthem Highlands from San Diego. “It’s a sense of family; our friends have essentially become our family.”

Their very favorite community activity is called the ‘Battle of the Blocks’ – a block party competition that has neighbors planning their individual parties all year long. “I never realized that not just kids, but even adults can enjoy competition so much,” says Anthem Highlands’ Lifestyle Director Debra Wyatte. She invented Battle of the Blocks – and carries out a non-stop calendar of events that earned Anthem Highlands the Community Association of the Year Award last year, from the Community Associations Institute.

Even in a community where schools are a major draw (including top-rated Legacy High, and new Prospect Ridge Charter School, right in the neighborhood, set to open this coming year) people really covet ways of meeting other people and getting their kids introduced to other kids, says Pulte’s Jenn Ankrum, who like Tom chooses to live in the neighborhood. Before the party she’ll show you the 32,000-square-foot rec center (and can arrange for the family to test-drive the pool someday, too!)…along with three collections of homes, starting from as low as the high $200s. Those include some that can deliver right away – such as a ‘Monarch’ ranch from the luxurious Premier Collection, four bedrooms and three baths plus a 3-car garage, at $445,000.

Monthly HOA dues for all of the Anthem Highlands lifestyle extras is currently only $132/month. For today’s Independence Celebration starting at 4 p.m. (or come by anytime for a tour of homes) take I-25 north past 470 to Highway 7, then west three miles to Lowell, south a block to Indian Peaks Parkway, and follow signs to Promontory Park.
