The massive renovation of Fortune Valley Hotel & Casino in Central City is taking longer than expected.
The unveiling of the casino’s 65-foot-long guitar-shaped bar, previously slated for today, has been pushed back at least a week.
The official rebranding and grand-opening festivities may not come until September. The casino is expected to take the name of a national brand with a music theme, such as Hard Rock or House of Blues.
“We have agreements with our brand; we just need to get the construction complete 100 percent before we can make any other announcements,” chief operating officer Dean DiLullo said Thursday.
DiLullo said this weekend will still mark a debut of sorts for the casino, with the unveiling of new or upgraded features such as a celebrity bar, lava lounge and party pit.
Other amenities scheduled to debut in July include a steakhouse and Las Vegas-style nightclub.
