A man who headed a violent drug ring in the metro area has been sentenced to 37 years in prison, prosecutors said.
Michael McCullar, 34, was sentenced Tuesday in an Adams County District Court on aggravated robbery and organized crime convictions, according to prosecutors.
The racketeering crimes involved 12 people who were accused of manufacturing and distributing methamphetamine, among other crimes, Adams County District Attorney Don Quick said in a media release.
McCullar pleaded guilty on March 31 to violating the the Colorado Organized Crime Act (COCCA), racketeering and aggravated robbery, the DA’s office said.
Prosecutors said McCullar was the source of methamphetamine for about 50 people throughout the metro area.
Authorities filed criminal charges against McCullar on Nov. 2. 2010 after a six-month investigation by the North Metro Drug Task Force.
