LONGMONT — Police this week ticketed a teenager on suspicion of child abuse and neglect resulting in injury because her 11-month-old baby ingested medical marijuana and was hospitalized in June, the Longmont Times- Call reported.

Police worked with the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office and social services to determine whether the 17-year-old mother should face charges, according to Longmont police detective Sandie Esters.

Longmont police think the baby either ingested or inhaled smoke from medical marijuana to which she had access when her mother took her to a friend’s home for a visit.
