Denver police are trying to identify a man who shot two people while attempting to rob them.

The robberies happened on Wednesday in the area of the 5400 block of North Xanadu Street.

During the attempted robbery, the suspect fired numerous rounds from a semi-automatic handgun, striking the victims several times.

From witness accounts, the suspect may be a regular visitor in the Montbello area and is known to play basketball at Falcon Park, in the 5100 block of Xanadu, and other local basketball courts.

The suspect is described as a black man in his mid 20s, approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall with a thin build. He has black, curly, shoulder-length hair, combed straight back with gel. He has a clean shaven face with a gold front tooth.

The man is considered to be armed and dangerous.
