ASPEN, Colo.—The U.S. Forest Service is recommending that the Aspen Skiing Company remove dead and dying trees to reduce risks to the public.

The recommendations are part of an environmental assessment at the four ski areas operated by the company.

Aspen District Ranger Scott Snelson tells the Aspen Times the proposed action also includes regenerating lodgepole pine and aspen at Aspen Highlands, Aspen Mountain, Buttermilk and Snowmass ski resorts.
