Police are looking for a man who harassed a young girl in Colorado Springs as she waited for ice cream.

The incident happened at about 4:35 p.m. Monday in the area of South Chelton Road and Carmel Drive, near Van Diest Park.

A 9-year-old girl was waiting for an ice cream truck when a man pulled up in a car and made a sexual comment, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department crime blotter.

The girl backed away from the car and the stranger told the child “he would give her a dollar,” police said. The girl’s mother came out the front door of her home, “causing” the stranger to “speed away.”

The suspect is described as a white man in his late 20s to early 30s, with strawberry blonde hair in a buzz cut. He was wearing light blue jeans and a black shirt with a purple “squiggle and circle” on the front.

The suspect was driving a white four-door hatchback, possibly a Volvo.
