COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—The U.S. Department of Agriculture says extreme drought conditions continue to expand over southern Colorado.
The department says exceptional drought, the highest category possible, covers the southern half of Baca County.
Extreme drought conditions exist from Colorado Springs and Pueblo to the San Luis Valley and over most of the plains to the southeast of the big metro areas.
According to KRDO-TV, some improvement in drought conditions is anticipated in July and August with the expected monsoon moisture.
