A gunman who made threats at a Littleton ice rink has been arrested after nearly a three-hour search, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.
No details of the arrest have been released, but it occurred “without incident,” according to a Twitter post by the Sheriff’s Department.
Spokesman Mark Techmeyer said earlier that SWAT officers and other deputies knew the man they were looking for, but he did not release the name at that time.
Law-enforcement officers and dogs had greenways and other hiding spots near Coal Mine Avenue and Simms Street in Littleton after the incident in the parking lot at the Edge Ice Arena at 6625 S. Ward St. at about 2 p.m.
People inside the ice rink and the nearby Ridge Recreation Center were evacuated to Powderhorn Elementary School on West Coal Mine Avenue, about a mile away.
A phone message was sent to residents in a half-mile radius to tell them to stay indoors as the search continues.
