The woman suspected of causing the death of a cat by blowing heroin smoke in its face told Boulder police she would never hurt the cat and denied smoking heroin at all, according to a police report released today.
Danielle Blankenship, 21, was arrested Tuesday after Boulder police responded to a domestic violence call at her ex-boyfriend’s apartment and found the cat, Muffin, unresponsive. Blankenship pleaded not guilty Wednesday to misdemeanor charges of animal cruelty and third-degree assault/domestic violence.
Blankenship is free on $1,500 bond and is due for a pre-trial hearing Aug. 17. She could not be reached for comment.
