DENVER—U.S. District Court Senior Judge Walker D. Miller in Denver will no longer be handling cases starting Aug. 1

Miller announced last month that he would be moving to inactive senior status, which means he won’t handle cases but may return to service.

President Bill Clinton appointed Miller in July 1996.

In an interview with The Associated Press Wednesday, Miller says he has other interests that he would like to pursue other than a few hobbies.

Miller says he been involved with law for 50 years and found a need to be away from the consuming profession.

Miller declined to say what the important or memorable cases in his career have been, saying each is important to the parties involved.
