Deadmau5 knows how to throw a party, judging by the progressive house DJ’s increasingly high-profile road gigs. The cartoonish Canadian, a.k.a. Joel Thomas Zimmerman, will hit Red Rocks on Aug. 30 as part of his “Meowington’s Hax” tour. Tickets are on sale. ($50, Ticketmaster)

Chromeo delivered a fittingly high-energy set to close out the Westword Music Showcase last month, and fans will have another chance to catch the cheeky Montreal duo on Oct. 6 at the Ogden Theatre and Oct. 7 at the Boulder Theater, both with Mayer Hawthorne & the County. The Album Leaf, the hypnotic electro- acoustic project of Jimmy LaValle, joins the roster of quality artists hitting the Bluebird in the coming months with his Oct. 4 concert ($13-$15).
