Folk-arts festival ends today.

Today is the final day of the SLV Folk Arts and Fiber Festival in Monte Vista, a celebration of handmade and traditional arts. Visitors can enjoy food, arts, crafts, demonstrations, retail, music and contests, including the popular spinning contest. Festival hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. or 719-588-5638

Quilt show in Ouray.

The annual Victorian-themed Quilter’s Tea kicks off the 2011 Quilt Show on July 20, at the Venue Roscoe Fox in Ouray. The show runs July 20-Aug. 23 and will showcase vintage quilts of traditional and unique designs. The Ouray County Museum will accept entries for the show Tuesday-July 18. Four Corners art show.

The Plein Air Painters of the Four Corners will present their 2011 summer exhibition at the Anasazi Heritage Center through Sept. 6. The paintings feature landscapes around the Four Corners area and are painted on location. 970-882-5600 or

Cars, cycles and planes.

The Vail Automotive Classic Wheels and Wings Show will return Sept. 10-11. It features a wide array of cars, aircraft and motorcycles, and awards will be given in nine car classes and two motorcycle classes. Nearly 75 aircraft will be displayed in more than nine categories. The day will end with participants and sponsors taking a mountain cruise along U.S. 6.
