RICO — Authorities in southwestern Colorado don’t think a New Mexico man who injured himself with a homemade explosive was trying to harm anyone.
The Dolores County sheriff said 56-year-old Douglas Markey was injured while detonating the explosive Thursday in a canyon near Rico. He remained hospitalized in fair condition Friday in Durango.
