LOVELAND, Colo.—The Loveland City Council is considering asking voters to lift tax and spending limits to help balance the budget.
Councilors at a study session Tuesday will view the ballot language to get the measure on the November ballot
Under the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights, governments must ask voter approval to raise taxes.
The TABOR override ballot issue is a key piece of the city’s financial sustainability plan, according to the Loveland Reporter-Herald.
Voters in three citywide elections have already allowed the city to keep $28 million in revenue that would otherwise been refunded to taxpayers.
