ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Minnesota Wild signed first-round draft pick Jonas Brodin to an entry-level contract Tuesday.

The Wild selected the 18-year-old defenseman from Sweden with the 10th overall pick in the NHL’s June 24-25 draft.

Brodin had four assists in 42 games for his Swedish Elite League team last season at age 17. He scored two goals in 14 playoff games, helping his team win the title.

Kings keep Richardson

LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Kings agreed to terms with Brad Richardson on a two-year, $2.35 million contract. Richardson had seven goals and 12 assists in 68 games last season. He also was an effective penalty killer for the Kings, who acquired him from Colorado in 2008.

Former Calgary Flames center Brett Sutter pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct for punching a cab driver outside a Scottsdale, Ariz., bar last year. The 24-year- old Sutter is due back in court Sept. 15 for a restitution hearing.

• The Phoenix Coyotes hired former Atlanta Thrashers head coach John Anderson as an assistant.

• Goalie Jeff Deslauriers agreed to a two- year contract with the Anaheim Ducks and likely will to compete with Dan Ellis for the team’s backup job.

• The Edmonton Oilers traded center Andrew Cogliano to the Ducks for a second-round draft pick in 2013.
