The only U.S. initial public offering scheduled for this week was welcomed by investors Thursday, as energy firm Oiltanking Partners LP gained 10 percent on its first day of trading. The company’s stock closed at $23.70 a unit on the New York Stock Exchange from its initial public offering price of $21.50. It sold 10 million common units above its expected $19 to $21 range.
