A lost peacock was found in unincorporated Arapahoe County on Friday, and animal control officers are trying to find his home.
The young peacock, weighing from 10 to 12 pounds, was captured at South Emporia Court and South Dayton Street about noon.
Mindy Edstrom, a spokeswoman for Arapahoe County, said the first call officers received of a peacock sighting was as early as 8 a.m.
Officials who located the bird initially thought it may have escaped from the Denver Zoo, but zoo officials said the animal doesn’t belong to them. Denver Post staff and wire reports
