Republican Texas Gov. Rick Perry, a potential presidential candidate, is among five GOP governors who will hold a forum in Aspen.

Perry is considered a likely presidential candidate but he has yet to announce. The other Republican governors at the forum Friday evening are Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez, and Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell.

They will participate in a general discussion moderated by Aspen Institute President Walter Isaacson. The group says one of its missions is to host nonpartisan policy forums.

About 800 people are expected to attend the event. It’s happening as the Republican Governor’s Association holds a fundraiser and convention in Aspen.
