BLADEVILLE, Tenn. — Austin Dillon passed NASCAR Truck Series points leader Johnny Sauter on lap 127 and cruised to his first win of the season at the Lucas Deep Clean 200 at Nashville Superspeedway on Friday night.

Dillon, the grandson of NASCAR team owner Richard Childress, was able to close in on Sauter and pass him with 23 laps to go in turn four, and didn’t look back.

Dillon, who was the polesitter, took two tires on the last pit stop while Sauter took four.

With the win, Dillon pulled 18 points behind Sauter in the points race.

IRL washed out.

Heavy rain wiped out the first day of practice at the Edmonton Indy race in Alberta.

Track and IndyCar officials said heavy pools of water on the 2.6-mile, 13-turn circuit made the course too dangerous for the open-wheel cars.

Officials will try to cram practice and qualifying in today.
