Frontier Airlines announced today that it will resume full service on Saturday.
Eighteen of Frontier’s Airbus aircraft were damaged at Denver International Airport on July 13 leading to multiple cancellations in the days that followed.
“This storm was unlike anything the company has ever seen,” said Wayne Heller, the company’s chief operating officer. “But thousands of employees at Frontier and other Republic Airways subsidiaries came together and worked literally around the clock to return Frontier to normal operations.”
Heller said that Frontier and Republic maintenance teams were able to return several aircraft to service within days.
Heller also praised reservations agents and customer service teams in Denver and Milwaukee who helped reroute hundreds of customers on to other Frontier flights or other carriers.
“Our schedulers spent long hours developing balanced flight schedules to best utilize our undamaged fleet and did outstanding work to keep our guests and their luggage together,” said Heller.
He also thanked Frontier customers “for their patience and understanding.”Howard Pankratz: 303-954-1939 or hpankratz@denverpost.com.
