Rapids: Midfielders Jeff Larentowicz and Wells Thompson played for New England before coming to the Rapids. They were traded here in January 2010 for Preston Burpo, Cory Gibbs (neither of whom remain with the Revolution), allocation money and a draft pick. … Midfielder Jamie Smith continues to recover from a hamstring injury that has kept him in and out of action for the past month. Revolution: Ended a nine-game winless streak Wednesday with a 1-0 victory at D.C. United. It was New England’s first win since a 1-0 victory against Vancouver on May 14. … The Revs haven’t beaten Colorado since 2007, a 1-0 win at Gillette Stadium. The teams played to a scoreless draw May 7 there. … New England’s leading scorer is central midfielder Shalrie Joseph with five goals. Another player to watch in midfield is U.S. national team member Benny Feilhaber.

Spotlight on the Nyassi twins: Sanna Nyassi, left, had a breakout game for the Rapids Wednesday, scoring a hat trick in a 4-1 win over New York. Tonight he’s hoping to play for the first time against his twin, Sainey, who is a midfielder for the Revolution. Until they turned pro, they always played on the same teamthe same club team in their native Gambia, the same youth national teams, even the full national team.
