CASPER, Wyo.—A draft report on an Anschutz Corp. subsidiary’s proposed wind project south of Rawlins, Wyo., is available for public review.
The Bureau of Land Management released its draft environmental impact statement of Power Co. of Wyoming’s proposed Chokecherry and Sierra Madre wind project Friday. The public has until Oct. 19 to submit comments on the 1,000-turbine proposal.
The draft is part of the BLM’s process for reviewing the company’s application for a right of way for the project, which could generate 2,000 to 3,000 megawatts.
The Casper Star-Tribune reports the wind farm will cost about $4 billion to $6 billion. It would sit on parts of the Overland Trail Cattle Co. ranch, which is owned by the Denver-based Anschutz Corp.
