FORT CARSON, Colo.—A Defense Department audit says Fort Carson and the Army Corps of Engineers properly handled planning and reporting on an $11.5 million project to repair the post’s Nutrition Care Division building.
The Defense Department inspector general released a report Friday saying officials couldn’t provide documentation of the cost estimate but said that was offset by requiring contractors to submit fix-price bids.
The project was funded with economic stimulus money. The defense inspector general routinely audits such projects.
