Interstate 25 near Wellington has reopened in both directions following two accidents that closed both northbound and southbound lanes this afternoon.
Colorado State Patrol Trooper Nate Reid said a woman driving a Honda SUV hit a median and rolled her vehicle just before noon at northbound I-25 and mile marker 275, north of Fort Collins. The SUV was on fire for a short time, Reid said.
A child passenger had to be extricated from the vehicle but was not injured. The woman was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies with unknown injuries.
A few minutes later, a multi-vehicle crash occurred in the southbound lanes near the site of the first accident. Reid said the cause of the crash is not known, but it is likely related to the first incident.
One man was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies with unknown injuries from the second crash.
