A powerful Yemeni tribal leader, Sheik Sadeq al-Ahmar, on Monday warned against attacks on anti-government protesters, as hundreds of thousands rallied in the capital, Sana, and several other cities calling for regime change. A small group of supporters of President Ali Abdullah Saleh who live close to a students’ protest camp demonstrated in front of the presidential palace demanding the camp be emptied out.
