Denver police could be looking for one man who is attacking women — or two men, linked by the coincidences in their crimes and general appearance.

In both cases, one early Sunday and one early Monday, women walking alone were able to fight off their assailant.

A woman was grabbed from behind in the 2300 block of South Broadway between 1:15 and 1:30 a.m. Sunday. The man might have used a stun gun before he tried to drag the woman into an alley.

She fought herself away from him and escaped, according to police.

The attacker was Hispanic or white, in his 20s, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a black goatee or beard.

Monday between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m., a woman near North Lincoln Street and East 11th Avenue when a man walking toward her grabbed her around the neck, police said.

The woman fell to the ground but had pepper spray and used it, before the man ran away.

In the second attack, the attacker had a similar description. The victim in that case said he appeared to weigh about 200 pounds.

“There are similarities and differences” between the two attacks, said Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson. “We hope by putting this out, the public can help us find and arrest this person or both of these people.”

Anyone with information can call Denver police at 720-913-2000 or Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tips also can be sent by text message to CRIMES with the title DMCS, or e-mailed to .

There is a $2,000 reward.
