A man who was working as a painter at a home in Edwards was arrested Tuesday, for allegedly stealing cash and jewelry from the residence.
Agustin Rico-Ponce, 39, of Leadville, was arrested at his home and faces charges of felony burglary and felony theft, according to a news release from the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office.
Rico-Ponce admitted to stealing the items and showed detectives where he hid them.
The items will be returned to the homeowners.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has also been contacted and an immigration hold is pending. Currently, Rico-Ponce is being held at the Eagle County Detention Facility on a $7,500 bond.
